Abstract

This narrative review explores the role of new technologies in enhancing the educational capabilities of students with special needs. Emerging technologies such as interactive educational software, virtual and augmented reality, and assistive devices are identified as effective tools for improving the learning process for these students. The findings indicate that the use of these technologies can enhance cognitive skills, boost self-confidence, and facilitate access to educational resources. However, challenges such as high costs and potential negative effects, including reduced social interactions, are also discussed. The analysis of strengths and weaknesses suggests that with careful planning and balanced usage, positive outcomes can be achieved. The paper concludes by recommending further research into the long-term impacts of these technologies and the challenges of accessing them, aiming to fully utilize their potential in educating students with special needs.
